Race day schedule:
Bib number pickup from 7:00am until 8:30am
Half marathon start: 9:00am
5K start: 9:15am
Course: As a result of the flooding that occurred in August, the last mile of the course has been partly damaged, but it is still passable. You should expect a little loose sand and a very small detour around an eroded spot. Don’t worry; it is all very runnable but not quite as groomed as it was in the past.
Without volunteers, it would not be possible to put on a race like Leaf Peepers. Course marshals, water stops, post-race food, and registration are just a few of the essential jobs being done by volunteers.
If you would like to be a member of the Leaf Peepers 2023 volunteer team, please fill out the form on our Contact Us page to let us know that you’re interested.

Race History: The first running of the half marathon was in 1984, and the 5K began in 1990. There were 163 finishers in the 1984 half marathon. Debbie Crow of Stowe was first woman in 1:30:17, and Keith Woodward was first male in 1:11:56. There have been a few course changes over the years, the most significant being the switch to the Perry Hill course for 2013 through 2018. The race returned to the original Waterbury/Duxbury course in 2019.
